We recently got the HTC VIVE VR system in our lab due to its ability to track controllers very accurately. Using the code found here some others in the lab have even been able to do some visual servoing. Even more recently HTC released the vive trackers and we were able to get some of them. These are nice and lightweight smaller than the original controllers. We want to use them to help us estimate pose of our soft robots. I was able to get them interfaced with ROS using a forked branch of the original code and now we can get the pose of each tracker in ROS. As I develop more I will add updates to how things are going.
For anyone who wants to use the trackers in ROS the code is found here. |
For my capstone project, my team was tasked with designing a sterile drape system for the GE OEC C-Arm x-ray machine. Working with GE design engineers we researched, developed concepts, and built a working prototype which let to a patent (link to the patent). I was in charge of developing the folding part of the drape using the Miura Ori fold pattern.
